A couple of things: 1. A Midsummer Night's Dream in the Botanical Gardens, Wed 9th - Fri 11th July, starts 7.30pm, £11 tickets. This should be booked ASAP, which days are good for people? A couple of friends of mine have said they'll probably go on the Wednesday.
2. My birthday part II: The revenge! Party at Becky's place on Saturday 26th July.
What, you need instructions?

[Link] | Train tickets for London have arrived, they are currently in a safe place. (Bedside cabinet, top drawer, someone remind me).
So that'll be £31 each, if people could get me the money before the trip.

Take the second star to the right... ...And straight on until SPAAAAAAAARRRTTTTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahem.
Those of you I phoned yesterday, train tickets have been booked and I'll invoice you when they turn up.
Meanwhile, the noble thespian tradition continues closer to home, with this season's open air theatre in the Botanical Gardens! There is Peter Pan on later this week (Wed-Fri, 6.30pm) and A Midsummer Night's Dream on 9th-11th July at 7.30pm, both of which I plan to go to. (There's also Charley's Aunt and Henry V, but I'm less bothered about those)
Tickets are £11 advance, I'll probably book Peter Pan on Tuesday.
Is anyone interested, and if so which day works best?

Plan for travel to London ...for those people interested in the Phantom of Opera thing.
There's a train down on Friday 18th departing at 3.27pm, and a train back on Sunday which leaves St Pancreas at 3.30pm. Cost for advance booking of these is about £32.
If anyone's overcome by the urge to work that afternoon, there's a later train at 6.30pm (Nova tells me he'll be getting this one) and those of us who will have spent a couple of hours bumming around London should be able to meet up with you at the station.
I plan to book train tickets within a couple of days, so anyone who's showed an interest I will be pestering by phone to confirm. I'll book all the early train tickets myself, and I'm happy enough to book the later ones if people need me to and give details.

Ides of July 2: The Revenge! Okay everyone, the plan is to go down to London on Friday 18th July and come back on Sunday 20th. Misha tells me there a couple of good club nights on that weekend to entertain ourselves.
The question now is, would people prefer to travel down during the day on Friday or after work? (There's a train which leaves at around 6.30pm ish) I'll be taking the day off work so I wouldn't mind getting an early afternoon train, but we could always arrange to meet up with anyone who has to join us later.
If we can decide which train to get I'm happy enough sorting out the ticket ordering so it's all together - I'll want to do this within a week to make sure we get seats. Total train cost should be about £30 - £35.

Beware the ides of July... Hi folks,
As some, most, all or none of you may be aware, I will be turning 24* in July. I thought it might be fun to do something a little different than just having a party, so I have a cunning plan to drag as many people as possible down to London for a weekend to see Phantom of the Opera in theatre. Misha has generously agreed to play host to as many people as we have (Lord, what fools these mortals be!) and to sort us out with a good deal on tickets.
So, anyone interested in coming? It'll probably be either the weekend of the 18th or the 25th July, but nothing's firmly decided yet.

Best. Ride. EVER. We all need to go to Alton Towers. When the weather is a little warmer.
Possibly dressed as pirates.
Then we need to go on the new Battle Galleons ride. Shoot at people on the shore with hand-cranked water cannons, and they shoot back with the same! Then you can soak people on the ride since they don't have any cover when they're in the boats!
I loved it. Even more than Air, which up until now was my favourite of the lot.

Reduced Shakespeare... ...are bringing the Complete Works of Shakespeare back to the stage, in the Lyceum next week, Thursday through Saturday.
I'll definitely be going to see this one, anyone care to join me? Note that I'm busy at a party on Saturday so it'll have to be Thu or Fri.

The Bible Anyone up for seeing Theatre Company's production of The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged)?
It's on from Wednesday through to Saturday.

I've seen the actual Reduced Shakespeare Company do this and it was fantastic, plus this is only five quid so I may well go and see it. Anyone else interested? Note that I can't make the Saturday one, I'm seeing South Pacific at the Lyceum then.

Corp! Some of us plan to go to Corp tomorrow (Sat 29th Jan).
I am slightly drunk right now and so don't have any more details than this. We may be meeting at Becky's for drink before heading down via tram.
Pardon me a moment. My brain is trying to escape.

A minor point of order: Needing to crash up through the floor is no excuse. Angels are NOT Superman and shouldn't do impressions of him.
Misha, back me up here!

'Twas the night before Christmas... I imagine everyone's already aware of this, but The Nightmare Before Christmas is coming back into cinemas in a new funky 3D version - the same technology they use for Beowulf.
Anyway, it's on at Cineworld at 7.30pm from this Friday through to next Thursday (and probably longer, but their website's being uncooperative). Becky, Flick and I will probably go and see it at some point when (if!) we're all free, if anyone feels like joining us.
In other news, I've finally signed up for Orbital.

Anyone for Joseph? Hi folks,
I realise that this comes at somewhat short notice (despite knowing about this for 6 months it's kind of crept up on me...) but does anyone feel like seeing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at the Lyceum? It's on until Saturday.
And yes, I have noticed the mild inherant irony of asking if a primarily goth and pagan crowd want to see a bible story.

Grrr. Stupid North America. I really want an XO Laptop, but their Give One Get One programme is only being done in North America.
Look at it. Isn't it the coolest thing ever? Well worth £200 or $400 or whatever. It has green bunny ears and everything!
Hmph. Not happy Spike.

Travel advice required: I need to fly to Rome.
Does anybody have a cape I can borrow?
Joking aside, at some point in November I'll need to spend a weekend in Rome, so if anyone can give me any comments on the best place to fly from and a good place to find cheap flights, I'd appreciate it.

Your bullets cannot harm me... As everyone knows, Batfink is on again this Friday. Sure, it won't be as good as it used to be back in the Good Old Days (TM), but it's worth supporting even so. To this end, I propose meeting in the Old Queen's Head beforehand at around 8.30pm - that way we'll be in at least one decent place that evening!

I love a good wedding... ..well actually I don't really love weddings, since the only real love is Christian love. Which is like a stream. Not like a sponge. Sponge-love = not real love. But I'm pretty damn fond of them all the same.
I also quite like sponges.
In fact, I just like to say sponge.
